In 2021, the Seattle Police Department had a new management unit called Park Enforcement Officers. This unit would be responsible for enforcing parking laws and arresting violators. However, the officers would not be recognized as police officers and would not be able to use force or arrest citizens. The pressure from activists in 2020 made the city council members decide to turn to Park Enforcement Officers as a function of moving away from police resources.
For monthly parking, the rates range from $125 to $350.
Starting at 5 PM and 10 PM, parking is $3.00/hr for the first two hours, and then it will cost $8.00/hr during the weekends.
For any event that attracts more than 10,000 people, an event rate will occur including Sundays and holidays. ..
